Three Weeks

The shitty committee strikes again

Well, turns out that when you reference the shitty committee in a blog post, the bastards come out in full force against you.

Last week I talked about therapy and uncovering the shitty committe - AKA the internal collection of voices that seeks to shout down every activity or effort I try to take. Those bastards really don’t like being talked about, and once again I find myself writing a blog post on the day it’s supposed to be live, because I haven’t written one early enough.

Tut tut.

The committe have had a field day with that, as well as dodging the responsibility; this week has been a tough one for commitment and getting stuff done, because the committee has been exceptionally vocal and determined.

None of that is a sufficient excuse, of course. Life happens. We move on regardless.

But when you have a collection of internal voices - or sinking feelings - that try to undermine all your activities, it can be really hard to focus on what’s important, or even decide what’s important in the first place.

And that’s what leads me to write this post. A protracted apology to whoever is reading this and an apology to myself for not committing sufficiently to the bit, to a schedule, and reminding myself that writing here - about anything - is important.

I set myself a goal of hitting a full year of weekly posts. I’ve fallne down many times before, but I really don’t intend to do that this time, especially as I’ve got this far already.

Back next week. On time, this time.
